| RADICAL HEARTS VZW We want to define as radical art as art which profoundly develops a single proposition. It is free from style, but not free from a very specific attitude of the artist towards his/her art. Radical art, to us, has nothing to do with provocation; being tender can be very radical. ‘Radical HeArts vzw ‘ is as well a mental and juridical structure for the Performing Art Company and for other related works of art, created by Paul Vandenbroeck and Pé Vermeersch as it will be, in time, a location in the heart of Kortrijk open to the public to assist to performances, exhibitions and lectures. The predecessor of ‘radical hearts’ was ‘the small house for radical art’ , a dance workspace that flourished from 2002 till 2005 in the harbour of Ghent and where the fundaments of a new company were laid. Thanks to the support of the City of Ghent , the collaboration with the Cultural centre ‘ Stroming’ of Evergem and the Province of East-Flanders; but especially thanks to the voluntary enthusiasm of many artists, several projects could be carried out. At this moment there are no funds for ‘ radical hearts’. The Flemish Dance Commission considers the work to be artistically irrelevant. People related to ‘ radical hearts’ Artistic team :
